Study Committee Mission
The mission of the Landlocked Parcel Study Committee, which was created with a Town Meeting approval in May 2008, is to "have a discussion and expression of views pertaining to the future development concepts of Patriot Partners, the holders of the interest in the option agreement for the so-called "Landlocked Parcel," (Article 8, Burlington Town Meeting Warrant, May 12, 2008.)
Patriot Partners will collaborate with the committee to explore their ideas and work with the committee to study the property’s existing conditions, environmental and engineering challenges, necessary access and infrastructure components, as well as the potential financial benefits for the Town. Upon completing a comprehensive review of the landlocked parcel, the Study Committee will recommend to Town Meeting whether or not the Board of Selectmen should enter into negotiations for the disposition of the property to Patriot Partners, at a commercially reasonable sales price and on particular terms and conditions, which agreement will of course be subject to Town Meeting approval.
